How Deployment Works

No Group Policy push. No per-user activation. The whole setup takes less than half an hour.

    Create a central data folder on your server

    One folder on a drive your staff can already reach. This holds the licence file, mark schemes, class data and backups. No special server software needed.

    Run the setup installer on each machine

    Standard Windows installer — takes a couple of minutes. IT can push it centrally using standard deployment tools, or teachers install it themselves from the download link in the trial email.

    Point each install to the central folder

    A small config file tells the app where its data folder lives. Drop it in alongside the installer once — no repeat per machine. The licence file goes in the central folder and registers teachers automatically.

    Teachers launch it and start marking

    First launch, each teacher sets their name once. It appears on all their PDFs automatically. All class data and mark schemes live in the central folder — nothing important stored on individual machines.

One File to Update

When a new version is released, download it and overwrite the exe on the share. Every teacher gets the update automatically on next launch — no rollout, no reboot required.

The app caches the licence locally. If a teacher works from home or the server is briefly unreachable, they can continue marking for up to 30 days without interruption.

IT FAQ

Does it need installing on every PC?
Yes — a standard Windows installer runs in a couple of minutes, no admin rights needed. IT can push it centrally via standard deployment tools, or teachers install it themselves. All data lives in a shared central folder, so there's nothing important on individual machines.
How do updates work?
The app checks for updates automatically and notifies teachers when one is available. IT can also download the new installer and push it centrally — the update takes a couple of minutes and teachers notice nothing different.
What if the server is down or a teacher is working from home?
The app caches the licence locally when it connects. If the server is temporarily unreachable — network issue, weekend VPN, working from home — the teacher can continue marking for up to 30 days without interruption. When they reconnect, the cache refreshes automatically.
Can teachers have their name on reports?
Yes. On their first launch, each teacher is prompted to enter their name once — it then appears automatically on every PDF they produce. The name is tied to their network login, so it follows them across machines.
What if a teacher leaves?
Open the licence screen in the app and remove their entry from the user list. Their seat is freed immediately and available for a new member of staff. No need to contact me — it's all self-managed from within the app.
